Troubleshooting for Visual Novel Reader

I received tons of comment related to VNR problem, while managed to replicate some of these myself.

Some problems can be fixed, some r not. Bohoo...

Nonetheless, here are the list that hopefully can help you during your VN journey.

Using Clipboard AutoTranslater for VNR

First of all, thanks to the anonymous suggestion from this post.

Shout out to Mi_Tereshenko out there, who tackle this issue for our happiness. ( ᐛ )و
I prefer original content over reposting other people's posts and usually put their link here, but it's a different story about other languages, especially Russia, and their beautiful symbolic character. (‾◡◝ )>

Sauce if you're interested in exploring on your own, explaining Chrome and Firefox way.

This guide is for other Chromium-based browsers, which kind of use Chrome way.
So yeah, enjoy the guide.

Small VN trouble with Gugle Translation

Dang, it doesn't work for VNR and Textractor.

Unlike the G* ogle Translate feature, we know of other translator alternatives like Atlas and LEC, but those aren't frequently updated, unlike the G*ogle Translate. Not to mention the Machine Learning part, right? A 'simple solution' that doesn't need many works wouldn't simply drop from the sky.

And that's why I bother myself to make this post.

My brein is not enough. WE need more input. I think of several approaches on this matter and still hit a wall, ugh. If things get a bit technical, please don't blame me. Blame g*ogle for causing this problem lel.

Visual Novel Reader (new)

In layman's terms, Visual Novel Reader will translate Japanese words into English for you.
Also, it enables such features where users can create their subtitles for the VN game, so the language is making more sense than Machinglish (XD this term is so funny...)

As for the reason I use it, VNR can translate both PSP & PC games, which is incredible! Ahem, only for those that its text was recognized, of course. (Hurrah, hook code!)
I'm gonna strangle you like this ლ(ಠ益ಠლ), if you don't know what's the difference between these consoles.

For every Japanese VN for PC, you'll need to set System Locale to Japanese. Coz, it needs to feel like at home to work correctly. ( ́・ω・`)
Jokes aside, download the new VNR http://vnr.aniclan.com/

How to get Subtitles in VNR for Noobs (yeah, you!)

Okay, without further ado, this is for you Ladies and Gentleman.
Today sample is Black Wolves Saga ~ Bloody Nightmare.

  • Make sure that the VN you want to read already have subtitle created by other people in VNR server or offline (XML file). (งツ)ว Thank you @orlandoblue, @bakemeats and @blackicejester for BWS translation~
  • Please setup your VNR settings according to the guide here. Otherwise there might be some settings discrepancy, causing the guide to be not accurate for some steps. We don't need more headache, aren't we?
  • You already had a J-VN running smoothly, right?
  • Then open VNR and your pointer will change to light blue colour~ Remember to connect the VN to VNR based on guide in step 2.
Tips: Actually the most important thing is to always make sure that your VN game threads is readable by VNR or having proper hook code for it.

Translate PSP text from Japanese to English with VNR!

Don't doubt your eyes, folks.
It's true, and i have proof it~ XD
So to commerate it with myself, i'll make a tutorial about it~

Long-long ago, staring at otome game list sometimes made my eye hurts, a lot!
How can i not?
Some titles looks so great and interesting plot, all go to ruins with label [PSP] <- THIS!
No longer to brood over that now, nyahahaha~
I keep giggling at myself, imagining so many PSP games out there. Human has finally crawled out and found their way to conquer J-VN for PSP!
Thanks a lot to Jichi-sama who was the founder of this. Also to Sakimichi-sama who enlightened me with her guide.
Xie-xie, Merci, Gracias, Arigatou, and many more (ask Google or Bing for more) XP.

Let's start!
